Theme: “Rotary Fellowship During the COVID-19 Pandemic”

“How to Hold Club Meetings”

  • Club meetings will be held, but masks must be worn at all times, including when talking during meals.
  • Ensure that the President’s report and the SAA (at the start and before the talk) remind everyone to wear masks.
  • Announce again that attendance at club meetings is not mandatory this Rotary year.

“At What Daily Case Count Should Club Meetings Be Cancelled?”

  • It may be best to use the number of infections and serious cases as a guide.
  • We should set a threshold and cancel before it is reached (Yotsuya RC had cancelled meetings until October 15).
  • As a threshold, it may be best to hold an extraordinary Board meeting to consider whether to hold club meetings just before daily cases exceed 400, the highest count so far.

※ Cases exceeded 400 on four days in late July and early August.

“Our Approach Once a Vaccine Is Available”

  • This can be decided once a vaccine is available, so it is on hold for now.

※ Even once a vaccine is available, infections may not subside immediately.

“About the District Governor’s Visit (November 25)”

  • If cases increase, consider keeping the number of attendees at the District Governor’s visit to a minimum.

(e.g., limit attendance to about 20 people (directors only), with others joining via Zoom or being absent)

“Year-End Party and Other Events”

  • Whether to hold this year’s year-end party and other events will be decided as needed.

 “Format If Meetings Are Cancelled”

  • As during the previous cancellation period, simply distributing the weekly bulletin should suffice.
  • The timing has not yet been decided.
  • Rather than holding meetings via Zoom or with reduced numbers, it may be better to cancel them altogether.
  • We must avoid a cluster outbreak at all costs.
