Vocational Service

Serving through your work

At the heart of Rotary is the idea of Vocational Service: serving society not only through donations and charity, but through your work itself. Service is seen as an extension of your everyday work.
The Four-Way Test

A guide when you are unsure

1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

We return to this test in committee discussions and project decisions.
Five Avenues of Service

The pillars of our work

Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, International Service and Youth Service. Our committees follow these five avenues, and every new member joins one of them.

Requirements

Membership in Rotary is by referral.

Sponsors: As a rule, you need two members of our club to sponsor you. If you do not know any members, please contact us.
Eligibility: People who have a profession and hold an established position in their field
Meeting attendance: Every Wednesday, 12:30–13:30. If you cannot attend, you can use the make-up system and attend another club’s meeting instead.

How to Join

It takes about one to two months from application to membership. You are free to withdraw at any point.

• If you do not know any members, just say so in the form and we will guide you.
STEP 02We contact you

The club office or a member in charge will contact you by email or phone and answer your questions about our activities and membership.

• You may also be able to try out a meeting, event or volunteer activity. Just let us know.
STEP 03Invitation to membership

If you wish to join and the club decides to welcome you as a new member, we move on to the membership procedure.

• After the required procedure, your membership is put to the Board of Directors.
STEP 04Welcome aboard

We introduce and welcome you as a new member at a club meeting.

• As a member you will have many opportunities, including club committees, service projects, fellowship events and the Rotary International Convention. Enjoy Rotary to the fullest.
