On the theme “Rotary Fellowship During the COVID-19 Pandemic”

今回の会場設定は以前、会から配ったハイアットの1万円クーポン券が使えると思い、1万円込々の会費でお願いし、ホームであるハイアットを会場とさせていただきました。しかしながら、なんと皆さんは現金払いで
クーポンを使ったのは班長の私だけでした。（泣）

And so, with the fees duly collected, Group 1’s Fireside Meeting got off to a smooth start!

Each participant shared their thoughts on the theme.

In the middle of the meeting, International Service Committee Chair 高橋 and Vice Chairs ヴァッタ and 森田 also led a discussion on international service, making it a very meaningful gathering.

President 大瀧 also said that, when the timing is right, he will show a video of the “Nepal Well-Drilling Project” at a club meeting — we are very much looking forward to it!!

That’s enough of an introduction — here are the main points.
 

• We have no choice but to operate while maintaining social distancing.
• We would like to build a Rotary-specific meeting system at our club and share it with the world.
  
  A community suited to the present era.
• I believe fellowship is fundamentally about seeing each other’s faces — “face to face.”
• Consider measures suited to living “with COVID” and to the “post-COVID era” once the pandemic ends.
• Switching to remote formats such as Zoom meetings is easy, but I believe people spending the same time in the same place has a tremendous effect on communication.
• Rotary activities are not an urgent necessity, so it is also important to suspend club meetings when the situation calls for it.
