Shinjuku 5 Clubs Joint Project (Visit to Futaba Infant Home)

Community Service Committee Chair

We were told that despite Japan's population decline due to the falling birthrate, admissions and discharges this year have remained unchanged. Moreover, during the past year and a half of the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been many cases in which parents had no choice but to place their children because they had lost work and could not raise them. We also heard that consumables (disposable diapers) are still particularly in short supply.

(We received this as a request for the Shinjuku 5 Clubs Joint Project.)

This activity receives a subsidy from the city, but we were told it is not sufficient, and we felt the need for support.

Our committee wishes to continue to value the opportunity to visit Futaba Infant Home in order to “carry out service activities that make the local community brighter and more vibrant.”
