Restoration of the “Tamagawa Aqueduct – Naito Shinjuku Branch Channel”

For 350 years, the Tamagawa Aqueduct flowed 43 km from Hamura to Naito Shinjuku, where the Yotsuya Okido water station served as the hub of the water supply for the city of Edo. Memories and pride of this land that should be passed on to the next generation lie dormant in Naito Shinjuku.

As a symbol of the “Ring of Water and Greenery” for 21st-century urban development, Shinjuku City developed the “Tamagawa Aqueduct – Naito Shinjuku Branch Channel” (2009–2011) alongside Shinjuku Gyoen, one of the city's seven urban forests, and the “Tamagawa Aqueduct – Naito Shinjuku Branch Channel Promenade” was completed in March 2012.

As our 20th anniversary project (2008), our club donated 1 million yen toward the cost of restoring the “Tamagawa Aqueduct – Naito Shinjuku Branch Channel.”
