Fireside Meeting Group 1

Group Leader 藤枝 誠

Date & Time: February 28, 2025, from 18:00
Venue: China Four Seasons Roppongi Quanjude
Participants: 葛城, 加藤, 前田, 山中, 飯尾, 和田, 藤枝 (reporter)
Theme: “On Vocational Service”

Seven members of various ages and lengths of Rotary membership discussed Vocational Service at China Four Seasons Roppongi Quanjude in Roppongi. Quanjude is famous for its Peking duck, and since I often went there when traveling to Beijing on business, I had been looking forward to Peking duck for the first time in a while. The braised whole shark fin and other dishes were also delicious — nine courses in all, and very satisfying.

First, each of us spoke about how our own profession contributes to society. Along the way, services such as resignation agencies came up, leading to a discussion of whether every job truly benefits society.
Then, on the premise that Vocational Service means contributing to society, we discussed what we ourselves are doing as social contributions compared with other companies in the same industry. Participants not only gained an understanding of one another's work but also shared their social contribution activities and views, and I believe it was mutually inspiring.
