We distributed page 5 of the 2022 Manual of Procedure from the RI Council on Legislation and read aloud the Object of Rotary and the Five Avenues of Service described there, confirming our basic understanding of service.
On the theme “Our Club's Service Activities,” we first presented and reviewed our current service activities and reaffirmed our 13 ongoing service projects, after which every participant shared their views.
Member 葛城 offered kind words: with more than 60 members and a budget, it is wonderful that the club can carry out such a wide range of service, and seeing everyone work earnestly and enthusiastically while discussing things together reaffirms what a wonderful club this is.
Members who joined less than five years ago asked eager questions, saying there were aspects of the content and management of service activities they did not yet fully understand and would like to learn about. We discussed topics such as budget allocation and the approval process, the fact that Niko Niko box donations go toward service activity funds, and how our current service activities came about, making for a meaningful meeting.
We enjoyed the food and drinks while hearing about the history of NOBU TOKYO, a restaurant with locations around the world.
The meeting closed with the hope that, by carrying out the service activities of the Rotary Club of Tokyo Shintoshin together, we will continue to welcome new friends.
