Our Inspection of the Pump Wells (Drinking Water) Installed in Nepal

International Service Committee Chair 児玉 譲

We inspected the installation of pump wells donated by 内山捷代 in the Sarhari area of Haripur Municipality in southern Nepal, which, according to Mr. Bhatta, is the poorest area.
Every plate bears 内山's name as the donor.
We visited about five areas. As these wells provide drinking water, the villagers seemed overjoyed.
The drinking water wells were reportedly dug to a depth of 70–80 m, and people were delighted that they are different from ordinary wells.
In addition, a well was donated to an elementary school, where the children welcomed us.
Until now, they had to buy water, store it in tanks and use it as needed, which was inconvenient in many ways; the children expressed their joy that access to drinking water had improved dramatically.
The last photo shows the principal presenting his future requests in the principal's office.
