Visit to Futaba Infant Home
Community Service Committee Vice Chair 川合 義彰
On February 16, five of us, President 小川, Secretary 伊豆, 前田, 西原, and 川合 (on behalf of Community Service Committee Chair 青木), delivered diapers to Futaba Infant Home.
As for the home's recent situation, it currently cares for 34 infants against a capacity of 40.
The children range in age from 0 to 3, and when their stay ends, they return home, move to another facility, or are taken in by foster parents.
Last year, 13 children were taken in by foster parents.
We were told there are 10 such facilities in Tokyo.
