Disaster Preparedness Education and Music Gathering

On Thursday, June 5, 2025, we held the Disaster Prevention Education and Music Gathering at Shinjuku City Totsuka Daini Elementary School.
This time only two sixth-grade classes took part in the disaster prevention education, but they were divided into four groups and took part in four drills: initial firefighting, audiovisual learning, first aid, and a smoke experience.
Although time was short, each group was small, so the activities were substantial and we believe it was good training.
The Tokyo Fire Department Band concert was attended by all students, including children from the adjacent kindergarten.
Because only a few students had taken part in the drills, a disaster prevention talk of about five minutes explaining how to use a fire extinguisher was given before the concert.
The younger students also listened with interest, so we are glad we did it.
The concert featured seven pieces: six songs and one encore. The band included songs everyone knows, a piece introducing the instruments, and choral songs, and members of the color guard team from the Shinjuku Fire Station made a special appearance, making it a lively and enjoyable concert.
After the concert, President 佐原 gave a greeting and commemorative gifts were presented to all students.
Our club was represented by 11 members and 2 club office staff. Thank you very much.
