On October 9, “Shinjuku Day,” we supported sales at a booth outside the Japan National Stadium to promote the independence of businesses registered with “Shinju Quality,” the network of welfare facilities for persons with disabilities in Shinjuku City. At the same time, we watched the match between our local team Criacao Shinjuku and Suzuka Point Getters inside the stadium. Both were a great success.
The soccer match was covered by the media, and the booth also achieved excellent results.
Seven facilities besides the honey project also took part, and with ample space we were able to explain their products and work. In terms of figures, total tent sales were approximately 250,000 yen, of which approximately 125,000 yen came from honey-related products.
The previous record for honey-related sales at an event had been about 75,000 yen, so this was nearly 1.7 times that amount, a significant achievement.
We were also told that many visitors learned about the products and activities of the welfare facilities.
Many family members of facility users also came, and they expressed their gratitude, saying that seeing the users selling products with support amid such a festive atmosphere was reassuring and a great encouragement.
We received a prompt message of thanks from the Welfare Director of the Shinjuku City Workers' Job Support Center, saying that thanks to the tremendous sales support from the members of the Shintoshin Rotary Club, the participants gained confidence and had a fulfilling day. I am pleased to report this to you.
