“What is Rotary?” What does Rotary mean to you? I will begin by asking everyone this question.
We often hear “Enjoy Rotary,” and today I would like to think about its essence. Taking up the story of Hugh M. Archer (Dearborn RC, U.S.A.), the 81st RI President, who chose “Enjoy Rotary” as his presidential theme, we will consider fellowship, which could be called the essence of Rotary.
Introducing the “Myanmar Elementary School Construction Project” carried out by the Tokyo Higashi-Edogawa RC and the D2700 Fukuoka Airport RC, newly chartered this January, I would like to think about the bonds and enjoyment with friends that arise through Rotary activities.
Next, touching on “Participate!”, the theme of Kiyoshi Togasaki, the first RI President from Japan, I would like us to learn that taking part in Rotary club activities is the key to advancing service.
Finally, I would like to send my encouragement: cherish the fellowship full of friendship and consideration in your club, and take on the challenge of a new stage with “Enjoy Rotary.”
