Let’s relearn Rotary to the future!
This year, I set the above theme hoping to make it a year of relearning Rotary together, and I was given some time during the President’s Report to talk a little about Rotary. In researching Rotary to share it with everyone, I discovered things I did not know and things I had misunderstood, so personally it was a very educational year.

In club administration, first of all, the SAA Committee shared each meeting’s program with the committee members in advance,
so the meetings ran smoothly. The committee also enriched the program, planning events beyond regular meetings for members to enjoy, such as a visit to the Osaka-Kansai Expo and a dinner show by Tatsuo Kamon, and I believe members enjoyed them. We also printed the lyrics of seasonal songs in the club bulletin and abolished the songbook to save effort. In addition, we renovated our website to present the appeal of Shintoshin more clearly and attractively.
The new website includes videos, English pages and an easier-to-understand membership guide, which we believe will also help increase membership.

As for service activities, I wanted to proceed with the idea that true service is service in which we can see the joy of those we serve. We could not try any new service projects, but in our annual activities—planting at the Smile&DreamGarden and the Disaster Preparedness Education and Music Gathering—we could indeed see the joy of those we served, in this case elementary school children. In the water purifier installation in Thailand, which we have carried out since last year, we were also able to see the joy of the children in Chiang Mai, and I believe it was a meaningful service activity.

From the viewpoint of the future of Shintoshin, I thought it important to consider what the club should be like ten years from now and beyond, and what service activities it should carry out,
so we newly established the Medium- to Long-Term Vision Planning Committee to study these questions. The committee prepared a report that makes the themes to be examined visible, so I hope that next year the club will work toward realizing them on that basis.
Secretary 栂野 supported me for a long time, including during my year as President-elect, which was a great help. The committee chairs also took the initiative, so we were able to carry out all of the activities planned for the year. I am truly grateful. I also thank the board members and the club office staff for all their help throughout the year. Thanks to everyone’s support, I was able to serve as President for a year. Thank you very much.

Secretary 栂野 慶太

Thank You
Thank you very much for this past year.
With everyone’s cooperation, I was able to spend an enjoyable year.
Shintoshin RC has many events and projects, and this was a year with an especially large number of events we hosted.
Among them were things we managed to do and things we could not, but above all I am relieved to hand over Shintoshin RC, which has continued for 36 years, to President 内川 and Secretary 笹川 for its 38th year.
Being called “Secretary 栂野” did not sound bad, so I feel a little sad that it will soon end, but
from next year I will do my best again as a regular member. Respectfully,
