【Theme】Talking about the next 10 years of the Shintoshin Rotary Club
Although it was my first Fireside Meeting and I was not used to it, I opened the meeting and asked Member 佐原 to lead the toast.
Because we deliberately chose a venue in Shinjuku City, some said they hadn't been there in a long time and remembered only that the food was delicious. With support from Member 佐々木, the participants shared their thoughts on the club ten years from now.
- How can we bring in people who could become committee members in 3 years and presidential candidates in 5 years?
- Among the Shinjuku 5 Clubs, our members are relatively young, but we need to attract even younger members
- We need a system to get members actively involved in committees so that the jinx of members leaving after 1 or 3 years does not occur
- We need a positive gap compared with other clubs, and increasing membership is essential
- We need to consider moving from a men's club to welcoming women members, and how to attract people in their 30s and 40s
- Day-to-day accumulation through club activities and self-improvement are important
- While maintaining a relaxed Japanese style, we should make our club meetings more visible (photos)
- By reviewing activities that require care, drawing on 30 years of Rotary service, we can see the path for the next 10 years
- Support for members after joining is weak, so we need opportunities to get them involved (golf, etc.)
