Christmas Family Party Report

Fellowship Committee Chair 和田佳久

On Wednesday, December 11, the Christmas Family Party was held in the Crystal Room of Hyatt Regency Tokyo with a total of 95 participants.
After enjoying a French course dinner, we were entertained by the trio “Trois Rivières,” introduced by President 佐原. Their wonderful performance, ranging from classical music and Disney all the way to 五輪真弓, suited guests of all ages. It was memorable to see the children naturally gather around the stage, listening enraptured.
Next came the gift raffle. The delight of 内川, who won the coveted Yoichi whisky, and the disappointment of 吉田寿人, who mistakenly thought he had won when a different “吉田” was called, added to the festive mood of the party.
Finally, we sang our customary “Te ni Te Tsunaide” (Hand in Hand), and President-elect 青木 gave the closing remarks. Opinions varied on how to perform the “ippon-jime” closing clap, and we ended up doing “something like an ippon-jime” three times, but the party closed in a warm, friendly atmosphere befitting the end of the year.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Vice Chair 高木, who put everything into planning and running the event, to all the Fellowship Committee members for their efforts, and to 吉田雅俊 for once again donating sparkling wine this year.
