Fireside Meeting Report (Group 8)

　9月27日（金）午後6時から、千代田区内の日本料理店「麹村」において、第8回のファイヤー
サイドミーテイングを開催しました。参加者は、平岡直記幹事、髙橋一博会員、山中直樹会員、
大西元博会員、山内浩実会員、中村芳生の6名であり、当クラブの会員増をテーマとして懇談しま
した。活発な意見交換が行われ、その中では、
〇　While we want to increase membership, it cannot be just anyone; we would like to welcome members who are a good fit.
〇　The question is who is a good fit, but people interested in social contribution activities seem well suited to be members.
〇　People outside the club do not really know what social contribution activities our club carries out, so we need ways to let them know; we should do something beyond open meetings.
These opinions were raised. Members who have belonged to clubs other than Rotary also commented:
〇　ロータリー以外のクラブでは、小さな集団の中で派閥争いをしたり、面倒な人間関係が生じる
などの問題があったが、その点、当クラブにはそうした問題がなく素晴らしいので、このクラブの良さをもっと多くの方々に知ってもらいたい
That was one of the remarks made.
Exchanging views like these while enjoying good drinks and food made for a very meaningful gathering.
