Autumn Fellowship Trip 2019 in Nikko & Kinugawa

(Kinugawa Onsen) At Kinugawa Onsen Sanraku, we relaxed in the spacious, atmospheric large hot-spring bath and the open-air bath filled with the gentle scent of hinoki cypress, and after bathing, beer was served in the lounge to quench our thirst. At dinner we enjoyed authentic creative cuisine featuring the flavors of the season. Everyone joined the after-party, where we sang and talked to our hearts' content, making for a very enjoyable evening.

     
(Nikko Toshogu Shrine) At Nikko Toshogu Shrine, guided by a shrine maiden from the shrine office, we took a special route into the prayer hall, an Important Cultural Property, and received a special prayer for the Rotary Club of Tokyo Shintoshin. Afterwards, in the guest hall of the shrine office, a priest gave us an explanation and served us sacred sake.

   
(Coco Farm & Winery) We toured and had lunch at Coco Farm & Winery, which is affiliated with Cocoromi Gakuen, where people with intellectual disabilities study. Graduates of Cocoromi Gakuen work hard in its vineyards and winery. The winery produces very high-quality wines that have been served at the Okinawa Summit and in JAL and ANA first class, among others. Part of the hillside vineyard had collapsed due to Typhoon No. 19, but we fully enjoyed delicious wine and food together at the restaurant.
